Description

Role
We are seeking motivated and reliable Research Assistants to support the data collection phase of this study. The primary responsibility will be to administer and collect survey questionnaires from SMEs in the UK. This can be done by approaching SMEs directly and remotely. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and approach SME owners/managers across various sectors
  • Administer structured questionnaires (online and/or in person)
  • Clearly explain the purpose of the research and ensure informed consent
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of responses
  • Assist with basic data organization and reporting (if required)

Skills and experience
Essential Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Management, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in engaging professionally with SME owners and managers, for example as an employee.
  • Familiarity with survey-based research methods
  • Reliable, well-organized, and able to meet data collection targets

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior experience in survey administration or fieldwork
  • Knowledge of digital payments, fintech, or SME operations
  • Understanding of technology adoption theories (e.g., TAM, UTAUT)
  • Experience using online survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Google Forms)
