Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Innovation Networks Facilitator. This role is for an asap start date (early/mid March) and has a projected end date of May 29th 2026. This is a full-time role at 36.5 hours per week. Payment is set at £23.11 per hour + £4.33 holiday pay. This role will be UCL hybrid working with 2 days from the office and the other days from home.

The Translational Research Office (TRO) builds on an increasingly vibrant translational culture across the Life and Medical Science (LMS) faculties and the wider university community by providing integrated support for translational research through applying expertise in commercial product development (e.g.: drug, device, diagnostic) to securing translational award grants, and in leveraging industrial sponsored research and industrial partnerships investment.

UCL have established Therapeutic Innovation Networks (TINs) in Biologics, Cell & Gene Therapy, Devices & Diagnostics, Regenerative Medicine, Repurposing and Small Molecules.The TINs are managed networks that facilitate funding and investment opportunities for UCL projects by providing 

1. Translational Skills Development 

2. External engagement and 

3. Translational funding. Alongside these, is a twin focus on leveraging internal capabilities and strengths that exist today for investment, whilst also leveraging external input and horizon scanning – for UCL to be ready for, react to, and lead the opportunities of tomorrow.

Duties and responsibilities

Program management

  • Act as the point of contact for development of TIN communities working in partnership with the TIN chair and reporting to the TIN steering committee
  • Provide coordination, management and support for TIN activities
  • Work with the Translational Research Office network leads to provide ongoing liaison to academic and industrial partners to support the cultivation of areas of research relevant to developing academic/industrial partnerships
  • Establish an understanding / knowledge of the research area / expertise / interest of the academics within the broad areas relevant to the TINs at UCL.
  • Support the wider administrative tasks relating to TIN activities

Strategy and funding

  • To facilitate academic interactions across faculties and support research collaborations and partnerships
  • Support the Networks developing industrial research collaborations

Skills and experience

  • Educated to BSc / MSc / experience within biomedical research area
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to formulate and offer clear and practical advice on issues and influence senior leaders to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision
  • Proven flexibility and an ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Ability to successfully manage a variety of tasks to deadline and to work calmly under pressure.
