Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Content Production Assistant to join our Content Team as part of their placement year. Supporting our team of Content Producers, you will play a vital role in bringing our digital content to life to meet audience needs and support student recruitment targets.

This hands-on role focuses heavily on the crucial pre-production and planning stages of content creation, as well as providing active support during content capture for video, photography, and social media. It is an excellent opportunity to gain practical, real-world experience in a fast-paced higher education marketing environment. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting Content Producers with pre-production tasks, including scheduling, location scouting, writing briefs, and preparing equipment for shoots
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the content calendar, ensuring a consistent flow of content that aligns with marketing campaigns and key initiatives
  • Acting as a production assistant on set during content capture sessions for short and long form video, podcasts and photography.
  • Coordinating with students, academic staff, and external contributors to organise interviews and coordinate shoot logistics.
  • Assisting in content governance auditing and ongoing content management.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to help identify and maximise promotional content creation opportunities.
  • Any other duty related to the role which may be reasonably required.

Skills and experience

  • A foundational understanding of content creation processes across digital platforms, including websites, social media, and video channels e.g YouTube.
  • Strong organisational skills with an interest in project management and an ability to track delivery milestones.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive approach to working with systems, software, and technology

Desirables 

  • Some basic practical experience, coursework, or a strong personal interest in video production. 
  • Familiarity with marketing channels and current social media trends
