Seamster & Shepherd Limited is a low run fashion manufacturing workshop and design studio based in Penketh, Warrington. We are looking for a technical manufacturing assistant to aid our Head of Design in development, pattern cutting, pattern grading and low run manufacturing. In addition to assisting with general running of the business, the main scope of the internship is to help deliver 8 week upcycling course for secondary school students. The students will be turning textile waste materials into statement pieces culminating in a fashion show.

The goal of our company is to reshore fashion manufacturing back to UK where it originated and to play a part in establishing abase for the industry to pivot away from reliance on suppliers overseas with questionable environmental and human rights record. In addition to standard manufacturing we work with technically novel approaches and designs that may not currently be suitable for mass production, such as upcycling and remaking. This often requires developing new techniques and operations and necessitates a degree of experimentation.

Duties and responsibilities
We are looking for an intern that is willing to experiment and innovate manufacturing techniques with clear focus on streamlining production. This is a very hands on role with an opportunity to acquire wide range of experience in all aspects of garment manufacturing.
