About the Company
The Pillow With A Hole Ltd (PWAH®) is the original and market-leading brand in the specialist “ear pillow” market. We design and manufacture all products in the UK and sell globally, with our largest markets being the UK, USA, and Germany. Established 11 years ago, PWAH® operates in a growing and still relatively new product category with significant scope for brand expansion and digital growth.

While the business has an established customer base and strong product reputation, social media has historically been underutilised, presenting a substantial opportunity for strategic development and measurable impact. The company is currently expanding its affiliate programme, working with professional ear piercers in the UK and USA, creating further opportunity for content collaboration and partnership marketing. Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the Social Media Marketing Intern role is to support the strategic development and execution of PWAH®’s organic social media presence, strengthening brand awareness, affiliate engagement, and customer acquisition through structured, brand-aligned content creation.

This role offers the opportunity to build and implement a social media content strategy within a small, agile manufacturing business operating internationally.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and propose a structured social media content plan for Instagram and Facebook
  • Create branded visual and written content aligned with PWAH®’s positioning and tone
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with affiliate piercers for content generation
  • Support the launch and promotion of the PWAH® affiliate programme via social channels
  • Analyse engagement metrics and provide performance insights
  • Research potential expansion into TikTok and present a business case, including target audience relevance and expected ROI
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, product positioning, and visual identity across platforms

Department Context
The role will be based within a small owner-managed UK manufacturing business. The intern will primarily liaise with the Affiliate Manager regarding partnership content and campaign initiatives, with oversight and strategic input from the Managing Director.

As a lean organisation, the marketing function is integrated closely with product development, e-commerce operations, and affiliate partnerships. The intern will therefore gain exposure to practical, commercially focused marketing decision-making rather than siloed corporate structures.
