The Team Administration Assistant will provide essential administrative and coordination support to frontline teams at WirralChange. The role is designed to support the smooth day-to-day running of services, improve communication and record-keeping, and help teams deliver high-quality support to local communities.

This internship offers practical experience in a busy community organisation, giving the successful candidate exposure toadministration, coordination, data handling, and service support within the voluntary and community sector.

Duties and responsibilities
The Team Administration Assistant will:

  • Provide general administrative support to team leaders and staff across Wirral Change
  • Support the organisation of meetings
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records, databases, and monitoring information in line with organisational procedures
  • Support communication within teams, including emails, internal updates, and basic document preparation
  • Help with data entry, reporting, and tracking key information (e.g. attendance, activities, outcomes)
  • Support the preparation of documents such as reports, templates, and forms
  • Provide occasional reception or customer-facing support where required
  • Carry out other reasonable administrative tasks to support service delivery
Department Context
The role will be based within Wirral Change, working closely with team leaders and frontline staff who deliver a range of community-focused services, including employment support, social inclusion activities, health initiatives, and support for young people and adults.
 
This is a collaborative environment where administration plays a key role in enabling frontline teams to focus on delivering impact for the community.

Skills and experience
This role is suitable for a Level 6 undergraduate student who is looking to gain practical experience in administration within a community or voluntary sector organisation.

 
Applicants should demonstrate:
  • Strong organisational skills – ability to manage tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Good communication skills – confident written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate professionally with colleagues and service users, and able to communicate with people who speak english as second language
  • Attention to detail – ability to maintain accurate records, handle data carefully, and follow procedures
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Basic administrative experience (paid, voluntary, or through university work)
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email (outlook)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in community work, social inclusion, or the voluntary sector
  • Willingness to learn about data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding
  • No prior sector-specific experience is required, as training and support will be provided
