The Role

We are seeking a Graduate Research & Carbon Data Assistant to join our team and support carbon accounting, research, and

data entry activities across client and internal projects. Working closely with our Senior Consultants and Data Analysts, this role

is ideal for a graduate looking to build practical experience in sustainability, carbon data, and analytics within a growing

advisory firm.

From day one, you will contribute to real client work, supporting the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of carbon data used in

organisational and product-level assessments.

Duties and responsibilities

Objectives of the Role

Support the Data Team in calculating and analysing the carbon impact of client organisations

Assist with research, data collection, and data quality checks across multiple projects

Help identify carbon-intensive areas (CIAs) and opportunities to improve data completeness and accuracy

Contribute to the efficient delivery of carbon accounting and advisory services through structured data support

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the team by:

Collecting, inputting, and validating carbon-related activity data from client and external sources

Conducting desk-based research on emissions factors, methodologies, and relevant legislation

Supporting carbon calculations for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions under guidance from senior team members

Assisting with the preparation of reports, methodologies, data tables, and supporting documentation

Reviewing datasets to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or potential improvements in data quality

Supporting internal process documentation and data management workflows

Assisting with the preparation of charts, tables, and simple data visualisations for internal and client use

Participating in team meetings and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Data Team.

Skills and experience

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Recent graduate (or near completion) in environmental science, sustainability, data analytics, engineering, economics,

business studies or a related field

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large datasets

Good research and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets)

Interest in carbon accounting, climate change, and sustainability

Desirable:

Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting concepts (e.g. GHG Protocol)

Understanding of environmental or sustainability legislation and reporting frameworks.
