Weʼre looking for a motivated and proactive Business Development Intern to support our outreach, partnerships, and growth activity.

This role is ideal for someone interested in business development, partnerships, social impact, and the future of work, and who enjoys speaking to people, opening doors, and helping meaningful projects grow.

Youʼll work closely with our Business Development Officer, supporting outreach to professional service firms, education providers, and community organisations, while gaining hands-on experience in relationship-building and early-stage business growth.

About Generative Minds

Generative Minds is a UK-based AI education and innovation company on a mission to ensure nobody gets left behind in the age of AI.

We help professional service-based businesses, education providers, and community organisations understand and use AI responsibly through hands-on, human-first workshops, training, and partnerships.

Our work spans AI education for professionals, AI literacy for educators and students, and community-led digital inclusion initiatives. We collaborate with partners such as universities, local authorities, charities, and SME networks to make AI skillsaccessible, practical, and empowering.

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Support outreach to professional service-based businesses, education providers, and community organisations (email, cold calling, LinkedIn, and warm introductions).
  • Research and identify potential partners, collaborators, and funding or delivery opportunities.
  • Help manage and update CRM records, contact lists, and outreach pipelines.
  • Assist with preparing proposals, partnership decks, and follow-up materials.
  • Support relationship management with existing partners, including universities, charities, and SMEs.
  • Assist with general business development tasks across sales, partnerships, and ecosystem building.
What You Will Gain
  • Hands-on experience in business development within a mission-led AI company.
  • Direct exposure to partnerships with universities, charities, SMEs, and public sector organisations.
  • Practical experience in outreach, relationship-building, and early-stage growth strategy.
  • A meaningful role helping expand access to responsible, human-first AI education.

Skills and experience
We are looking for a student who is currently completing their degree and has a strong academic grounding in business, marketing, or the social sciences. You donʼt need to be an expert in AI, but you should have a genuine curiosity about how technology is changing the way we work.

The ideal candidate will have some experience (perhaps through university societies, volunteering, or part-time work) that shows they can take responsibility and manage their own time. We value a "can-do" attitude and the ability to look at a challenge and suggest a creative solution.

Three Key Skills:
  • Growing as a Communicator: You already have the basics—you write well and enjoy talking to people. During this internship, youʼll learn how to refine those skills for a professional audience. Youʼll develop the confidence to "open doors," learning how to craft messages that resonate with everyone from small charity leaders to corporate directors.
  • Building Research Instincts: You have a "detective" mindset and aren't afraid to dive into a new topic. Weʼll help you channel that curiosity into strategic research—learning how to map out business ecosystems, identify key decision-makers, and spot opportunities where our AI training can make a real difference.
  • Mastering a Modern Digital Toolkit: You are already comfortable with technology, but weʼll help you become an expert in the tools that power a modern startup. Youʼll gain hands-on experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines, Canva to design professional decks, and Notion to keep projects on track.
Target Degree Subjects:

We are keen to hear from students who are currently studying:
  • Business, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship
  • Education or Social Policy – for those passionate about digital inclusion and social impact
  •  Management or Media & Communications

Location
