Description
Role
Do you want to:
- Gain real-world work experience in a dynamic start-up environment?
- Develop core employment skills such as problem solving, resilience, project management and communication skills?
- Build your CV and professional network and enhance your employability?
- Earn while you learn?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then the Warwick Enterprise Internship Programme may be for you.
The programme offers current Warwick students the opportunity to undertake a paid internship, of up to 60 hours, with one of Warwick Innovation District’s innovative start-ups. As part of the programme, you will attend a number of specially curated workshops designed to fast-track your skill development and equip you with the tools required to be a highly sought-after employee.
There will be a number of projects available. While every effort will be made to match participants to a suitable project, we are not able to guarantee the role you will be allocated. Illustrative types of project include:
- Market research, data analysis and reporting.
- Media/marketing strategy and content development.
- Website and app design.
- Business development.
- Systems and processes development.
As part of the recruitment process, we will ask you to rank your preferred type of project role. We will then match you to the projects available from our partner businesses.
As well as undertaking an internship and gaining access to skill developing workshops, we will provide bespoke eLearning to further assist you in your personal development and we will allocate a coach, who will support you through your internship.
Duties and responsibilities
Your specific responsibilities will depend upon the internship project that you are allocated as part of the programme. Specific job role details will be shared with you following the assessment centre.
More generally, you will be required to:
- Commit to the full four-week period of the internship programme (1st June 2026 – 26th June 2026).
- Attend timetabled workshops on campus (5 days of workshops in total).
- Attend timetabled virtual group coaching sessions (1 per week).
- Complete the agreed hours of work for the internship project, as agreed with the project host. Maximum working hours will be 60 hours, or 15 hours per week.
- Meet all stated deadlines of the internship project, as agreed with the project host.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with the project host.
Skills and experience
Your skills and experience will be assessed when the project allocation takes place following the assessment centre. For this reason, please make sure your CV shows all your education and training to date and highlights specific skills as demonstrated through work experience or relevant projects that you have completed.
Eligibility criteria:
- You must be a current Warwick student, i.e. you are studying an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree and will not have graduated by 26th June 2026.
- No prior experience in startups or innovation is required.
