Aid to All is a registered UK charity dedicated to preventing and relieving poverty across the Liverpool City Region and surrounding areas. We provide essential items, food support, and practical assistance to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.

Digital media plays a vital role in our mission. It allows us to:

  • Raise awareness of poverty-related issues
  • Share real stories of community impact
  • Engage supporters and volunteers
  • Promote campaigns, fundraising, and outreach initiatives

This internship directly strengthens that work.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical “observe and assist” internship.

We are looking for someone who is ready to make our digital presence their own, while staying true to our ethos and mission.

The successful student will initially work alongside:

  • Kevin, Founder of Aid to All
  • Paulette, our current social media support
  • Volunteers

Full guidance and mentorship will be provided throughout. As confidence and understanding grow, the intern will move towards having near full responsibility for our social media platforms and contributing to website content and updates

Duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting the planning and scheduling of social media content across platforms
  • Creating engaging posts, captions, and simple graphics
  • Helping capture and share stories that demonstrate the charity’s impact
  • Supporting awareness and fundraising campaigns
  • Assisting with content ideas for key moments, appeals, and community activity
  • Reviewing engagement and suggesting improvements to content and approach

This is a practical, skills-based role designed to give the student hands-on experience while delivering tangible value to a local frontline charity.

Skills and experience

We are genuinely excited to collaborate with someone innovative, someone who wants to think outside the box, bring fresh ideas, and create something meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling social media content
  • Creating engaging posts, graphics, and short-form videos
  • Writing compelling captions aligned with our brand voice
  • Managing engagement (comments, messages, community interaction)
  • Supporting and updating website content
  • Researching trends and proposing creative campaign ideas
  • Supporting digital promotions and campaign launches
  • Monitoring performance metrics and preparing simple insight reports

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a student at Liverpool John Moores University studying Social Media, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field who is:

  • Highly organised and able to manage deadlines independently
  • Creative and willing to think and work outside the box
  • Confident and communicative
  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
  • Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and basic analytics tools
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute

This role suits someone who wants real responsibility and the opportunity to lead, not simply assist.

What You Will Gain

  • Portfolio-building, real-world campaign experience
  • Direct strategic input into a growing charity’s digital direction
  • Mentorship from leadership
  • Confidence managing a live brand presence
  • Insight into how digital media directly supports charitable and community-focused work

Travel expenses can be discussed.
