Description
Role
The research assistant will clean and organize survey data in preparation for analysis, conduct descriptive and inferential statistical procedures, including regression modelling and hypothesis testing, and use R for data analysis and visualization. The role also involves preparing analytical summaries, tables, and figures to support reporting and dissemination of research findings.
Start Date: 1/4/26
End Date: 31/7/26
Working Hours: To be arranged with the hiring manager
Pay Rate: £17.02 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £2.05 per hour
Location: UoN, Law and Social Sciences, University Park
Dress Code: Smart Casual
Duties and responsibilities
Clean and organize survey data to prepare it for analysis
Document data cleaning and analysis procedures to ensure reproducibility
Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses (e.g., regression models,hypothesis testing)
Use R for data processing, statistical analysis, and data visualization
Prepare analytical summaries, tables, and figures for reports and presentations
Interpret results and draft sections of reports or manuscripts
Help prepare presentations for conferences and dissemination
Skills and experience
Proficiency in R for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization
Strong understanding of descriptive and inferential statistical methods
Experience working with large datasets
Ability to produce clear analytical summaries, tables, and figures
Strong attention to detail and excellent data-management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
