Description
Role
We are looking for a postgraduate research student to write posts for the PhD Life Blog.
Your posts will provide a candid reflection into your life at Warwick and help other PhD students through your insights. The PhD Life blog, which covers all aspects of PhD Life, has a global audience of researchers, academics and prospective PhD candidates.
Along with your cover letter and CV, please submit a mini blog sample (300 words) on any topic you think will benefit our readers.
Duties and responsibilities
• To produce a minimum of 4 blog posts (400-800 words per post) on an agreed schedule with the editor; you may have the opportunity to produce more depending on schedule.
• To work with the editor and other bloggers on blog ideas, schedule planning, and other elements of the blog as appropriate.
• To support promotion and engagement with your blog posts through social media.
• To give tips, insights and information that may be useful to PhD students.
• To write on particular topics, potentially with particular audiences in mind (e.g. mature students, students from different departments, new students or more experienced students).
• To draw on your own experiences of postgraduate life at Warwick and ensure the factual accuracy and truthfulness of all aspects of your post.
• To support the Doctoral College with other projects, as needed, such as contributing to the fortnightly PGR Newsletter and event planning.
Skills and experience
• A current postgraduate research student
• Strong written communication skills, with a friendly and approachable style of writing
• Positive attitude, flexibility and proven ability to collaborate successfully in small teams
Location
Working from home (on campus presence might be needed for occasional events)
