The Intern will provide support across multiple functions of Savera UK, gaining broad insight into how a charity operates day-to-day. This role is ideal for someone exploring a career in the nonprofit sector, community services, or charity operations, andoffers hands-on experience working with teams across programmes, operations, and engagement.
Duties and responsibilities
General Support
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Support internal communications and information sharing within the team (e.g. circulating updates, maintaining shared folders).
- Help coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking notes where appropriate.
Events and Community Engagement
- Assist with planning and logistics for community events, client session, awareness activities, or campaigns (e.g. venue coordination, attendee lists, materials packing).
- Help prepare and organise simple promotional or information materials for outreach events, using existing content and templates under staff guidance.
- Support volunteers at events and workshops, as directed by the supervising staff member.
- Help track engagement or feedback information, in line with Savera UK’s data protection and safeguarding policies.
Online Shop and Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to Savera UK’s shop, including basic record‑keeping, data entry and maintaining simple logs (e.g. donations, stock lists, or shift rotas).
- Assist with organising and updating shop‑related materials and information, such as price labels, in‑store notices, and digital folders, using existing formats and templates.
- Help with internal coordination between the shop and the wider team, for example passing on queries, scheduling meetings, or sharing updates.
Skills and experience
Relevant degrees: Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Policy, Business, Marketing, or Communications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- IT and digital literacy (MS Office, Google Workspace, social media)
Experience (desirable):
- Volunteering or work in charities, community projects, or student societies
- Event support, campaigns, or outreach activities
