Role
Founded in 1922, the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) has evolved into a complex organisation that plays a pivotal role in the delivery of cardiovascular health across the UK. We currently have over 3,000 members including the majority of UK consultant cardiologists. Specialist registrars, GPs with a special interest, nurses and other professionals with an interest in cardiovascular medicine are also members. The Society became a UK Registered Charity in 2002.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the drinks reception and manage the temporary staff team
  • Prepare drinks and ensure smooth service throughout the event
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area
  • Provide instruction and support to bartending and waiting staff
  • Monitor health and safety and address any issues as they arise

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience working events, hospitality, or drinks receptions
  • Confidence serving drinks in a professional environment
  • Ability to carry trays safely and work on feet for the duration of the event
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional appearance and manner
