Duties and responsibilities
Flowstate CIC is an empowering social enterprise based in Liverpool, UK, dedicated to supporting and uplifting women through a variety of creative workshops and community initiatives. Our offerings include henna art sessions, sound healing, yoga, and other creative experiences aimed at enhancing personal growth and connection. We really believe in the importance of combining creativity with holistic practices to improve physical and mental health & the value of creative play for adults.

 
We are seeking a passionate and driven intern who will join us in expanding our reach and enhancing the impact of our programs across the city, maximising reach & engagement & expanding into the corporate sector - helping us to promote & deliver wellbeing sessions to both charities and corporate clients to enhance wellbeing, reduce burnout & improve physical and mental health across the city.
 
The intern role sits within Flowstate’s Community Programmes and Partnerships function, working closely with the Founder and facilitators to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of both community-based and corporate wellbeing activities. 
 
The purpose of the role is to support day-to-day operations, assist with programme delivery, social media, Canva posts &communications to help grow Flowstate’s reach, and contribute to the development of our corporate wellbeing offering, while gaining hands-on experience in social enterprise, community engagement, and creative wellbeing practice. 
 
The intern will support a range of activities including assisting with workshop preparation and delivery, helping coordinate events and partnerships, supporting communications and social media, and contributing to the administration and promotion of Flowstate CIC and Flowstate Studios. 
 
This role offers exposure to grassroots community work as well as professional corporate wellbeing projects, providing a broad and meaningful learning experience within a mission-led organisation.
 
Interns will be asked to create engaging social media posts, create content, deliver blogs, create workshop posters via Canva, network in the social enterprise / corporate sector, assist on workshops to create content

Skills and experience
This role is suitable for a Level 6 undergraduate student who is motivated, community-minded, and interested in gaining practical experience within a social enterprise, wellbeing, or creative organisation. 

 
The successful candidate does not need extensive professional experience but should demonstrate enthusiasm, transferable skills, and a willingness to learn. Our business is very creative & believes in bringing play to the workplace & to adults to enhance their mental health.
 
Subject Knowledge:
  • The intern should have an interest in, or foundational knowledge of, one or more of the following areas:
  • Community development, social enterprise, or third-sector organisations
  • Wellbeing, mental health, or holistic health practices
  • Creative arts, cultural engagement, or participatory workshops
  • Marketing, communications, or digital media in a social impact context

Formal specialist knowledge is not essential, as training and mentoring will be provided; however, an understanding ofinclusive, ethical, and community-focused practice is desirable.

Key Skills (Minimum of Three)

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with a wide range of people, including community participants, facilitators, and partner organisations
  • Confidence in written communication, including emails, short social media captions, or basic promotional content
  • Willingness to engage with people from diverse backgrounds in a supportive and inclusive way

Organisation & Time Management

  • Ability to manage tasks, deadlines, and schedules with guidance and support
  • Comfortable assisting with event preparation, booking coordination, and administrative tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow processes while remaining flexible in a small team environment

Creativity & Initiative

  • Interest in creative approaches to wellbeing, engagement, and communication
  • Willingness to contribute ideas for workshops, events, or content
  • Proactive attitude and openness to learning new tools or methods (e.g. Canva, social platforms, event support)

Experience

  • No formal professional experience required
  • Any previous experience (paid or voluntary) in community projects, events, wellbeing activities, creative workshops, student societies, or social media content creation is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working with people, either in a customer-facing, volunteering, or peer-support role, would be beneficial Canva & Instagram knowledge essential, Wix knowledge a big plus
