At Classroom 42, we provide a teaching and learning platform that supports high-quality planning, delivery, assessment, and progress tracking - through innovative tools built with teachers in mind and designed to help pupils reach their full potential. We use AI responsibly to provide most of these tools.

Everything we do is guided by five core philosophies that shape our work as we support hundreds of schools across the UK and beyond. Community, Trust, Excellence, Innovation, Responsiveness.

Teachers and School Leaders are fundamental to the learning and well-being of the next generation. The resources you provide will be gratefully received as part of a modestly-priced membership package that will supercharge the progress of all learners, particularly those who struggle to focus in a classroom context.

At GCSE Classroom we take the role of Internship Mentoring seriously and we have a three-year track record of excellence, often maintaining links with interns and have even employed a previous intern for a years placement in industry. This could bean excellent opportunity to get a ‘foot in the door’ at a growing enterprise.

What you’ll learn:

  • Collaborative teamwork in a professional, remote environment, as part of a fast-growing EdTech platform.
  • Resource design and development and practical skills in Canva, digital layout, and content structuring.
  • The application of AI tools to support teachers and pupils through automated marking, activity generation.
  • How to use specifications practically to produce high-quality, impactful exam and revision materials.

What to expect from us:

Full induction and training materials provided.

A line-manager who will check in and support weekly, and a further contact available overseeing the interns in general. Lots of support and guidance.

A fast-paced, working environment which will balance support and professional pressure to ensure you are able to meet a satisfactory end-point of the project and subsequently an excellent evaluation to take back to your studies.

A good level of autonomy and independence in work, with the overall mutual aim of completion to a clearly defined target the main driver of management.

Duties and responsibilities
Classroom 42 is seeking a proactive quick-starter to provide key content for an upcoming release of new courses on the platform. The nature of the content depends on the skills and interests of the intern. We are specifically seeking a student for the upcoming release of our first English Language, English Literature, Business Studies or Sociology course.

We create resources for teachers to download and use online. Three examples of what the intern on this project would be able to see through to completion would be:
  • Cheat Sheets. One page knowledge organisers used as revision resources.
  • Videos. Short-form videos for each content area to support revision online and also classroom learning.
  • AI Examinator Questions. These require you to generate a batch of specification-linked questions, mark-schemes and model responses for all topics to inform our built-in AI on accurate marks awarded and the feedback the student should be provided with.

Skills and experience
Please Note – You do not need to be studying for a degree in English Language, English Literature, Business Studies or Sociology but you must be able to show excellent knowledge up to at least GCSE level and demonstrate understanding of the GCSE system.

Essential:
  • Outstanding subject knowledge and passion for English Language, English Literature, Business Studies or Sociology.
  • An A-level in one of these subjects would be preferred.
  • An understanding of what is required to be successful at GCSE level in one of the above subjects and a knowledge of how to break concepts down clearly for a school-age audience.
  • Excellent written accuracy and attention to detail; strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as part of a small, collaborative team.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of GCSE specification, including grammar, vocabulary and exam requirements.
  • Experience in using digital tools such as Google Docs/Sheets, Canva, Word or similar.
  • An interest in education or becoming a teacher.
  • Creative flair in presenting content visually and engagingly.
