The postholder will ensure that the technical and digital Audio-Visual (AV) infrastructure installed across the University’s various learning hubs, classrooms, lecture theatres, meeting rooms, and other similar areas are maintained. This will also include providing a structured response and resolution to IT/AV digital technology related incidents and requests.You will work 37 hours per week on campus, the start date will be 01/03/2026 with an expected end date of 31/07/2026.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver effective and responsive support for AV and teaching IT facilities, resolving incidents and service requests in line with departmental service level agreements (SLAs) and standards.

  • Carry out routine maintenance checks on AV equipment, troubleshooting and resolving faults to minimise downtime.

  • Provide real-time technical support during teaching sessions, ensuring reliable AV delivery, and assisting users as required.

  • Follow standard setup configurations, user guidance and troubleshooting procedures to support teaching continuity.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to end users on the use of AV equipment and associated software.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum A-Levels or equivalent vocational education or equivalent work experience

  • An understanding of common technical issues, and problem-solving mindset

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to provide clear instructions and technical support to end-users (often non-technical)

  • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt.

  • Able to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner 

  • Good customer service skills

  • Able to provide a service to a diverse range of people to promote good relations and equality
