Role

Provide administrative support to the account management marketing team, supporting in implementing a defined portfolio of Faculty and departmental marketing plans. The role includes editing and maintaining content using a range of digital platforms. Producing and delivering communications and ensuring content is relevant, informative, dynamic, and accurate for student recruitment marketing activities.

Duties and responsibilities

The below is the full job description of the substantive role, however given time of year and priorities within the team we require the candidate to be most competent with CRM, emails and content development.

 

Communications

  • Plan and create content for CRM newsletters, emails, and other digital platforms to communicate with prospective students.
  • Segment audiences and source relevant, engaging copy for each segment.
  • Produce regular reports on interaction and engagement metrics.
  • Plan and create content to engage with prospective students during their application journey (e.g., newsletters, emails, and social media).
  • Generate alumni and current student content to support student recruitment objectives.

Website

  • Regularly update customer-facing web content, using the University's content management system or other appropriate technology.
  • Ensure web standards, usability, and accessibility are implemented and maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Account Management Team and Web Team to ensure content remains up-to-date, consistent, accurate, and on-brand across the website.
  • Support UX and marketing planning, including reviewing and approving UG/PG course content where required

Social Media

  • Write and manage social media content to deliver interesting, relevant, and interactive material that encourages engagement by current and prospective students, as well as professional bodies.
  • Monitor and report regularly on social media presence and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidelines and advice for staff on effective social media usage.
  • Tailor social media activities for defined portfolio of academic non-traditional departments, with a clear focus on student recruitment purposes.

Multimedia Content Development

  • Support the Account Management Team in developing dynamic multimedia content, including videos and marketing communications, for use across a range of digital platforms.
  • Attend events to record footage for promotional purposes.
  • Oversee the management of multimedia assets to ensure accessibility and relevance.
  • Define or maintain visual narratives linked to key messages for courses or departments.
  • Manage assets and liaise with colleagues in academic departments for content on internal channels, including digital screens.

Other

  • Assist with general administration tasks and provide support for the Account Management Team on key projects
  • Stay updated on trends in digital media to enhance communications plans.
  • Assist in the delivery of annual campaigns, focusing on content development and evaluation of effectiveness.
  • Adapt to evolving project requirements and assist in ensuring smooth coordination across all stages of project delivery.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or significant relevant work experience, GCSE maths and English grade C
  • Experience of working in a professional marketing/communications environment
  • Computer literate, competent in the use of database systems and electronic communication
  • Knowledge and experience of multimedia and social media in marketing and communication and how to integrate into wider communications strategies
  • Proven ability to produce high quality marketing communications, to include accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, and good proof-reading skills
  • Proven working knowledge of content management systems and platforms
  • A proven, high standard of written and oral communication and confidence of dealing with people in a welcoming, friendly and culturally sensitive manner
  • Good team working skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Experience using CRM software

 

Desirable

  • Professional marketing qualification (e.g., CIM) or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design or multimedia production software including Canva, Photoshop or Premier Pro.
  • Multilingual skills, with Mandarin considered an advantage

Location
Hybrid working, with an expectation that the candidate come into the office at least once every two weeks (Swallow House) with possibility of more on campus work as and when duties and marketing projects require, for example content development.
