Description

Role

We're looking for a creative and proactive individual to help us develop engaging content for our social media platforms, especially WeChat and Instagram, to strengthen our connection with our diverse audience. You'll work closely with the team to plan, create and schedule content that resonates with Business School postgraduate students. If you’re passionate about digital communication, enjoy telling stories through social media, and understand what captures attention online, we'd like to hear from you.

 

Start Date: 25/2/26

End Date: 30/7/26

Working Hours: To be arranged directly with the hiring manager

Pay Rate: £13.30 per hour

Holiday Pay Rate: £1.61 per hour

Location: UoN, Business School North, Jubilee Campus

Dress Code: Smart Casual 

Duties and responsibilities

Create engaging content for Instagram and WeChat, tailoring posts to an internationally diverse audience with varied work experience and studying various business subjects.

 

Develop social media plans, collaborating closely with the Postgraduate Careers Team.

 

Generate creative ideas and produce content using a variety of media formats to deliver engaging, regular posts on careers-related topics and opportunities, encouraging students to follow, interact, and engage.

 

Stay informed about audience preferences, online behaviours, and content trends to support ongoing content development.

 

Work in partnership with the team to maintain a consistent and professional online presence, aligning with brand guidelines.

 

Monitor the performance of posts, channels, and campaigns using a range of analytics tools and reports.

 

Where relevant, content should also aim to appeal to prospective students exploring Nottingham for postgraduate study.

Skills and experience

Experience of creating engaging social media content for platforms such as WeChat and/or Instagram, with an understanding of tailoring content for different formats (e.g., Stories, Reels, Moments).

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft accurate, compelling and audience‑appropriate copy.

 

Ability to create engaging content that reflects the needs and interests of a diverse postgraduate student audience.

 

Experienced in using Canva and video‑editing tools to produce visually appealing and professional content.

 

Ability to work independently and proactively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

 

Effective team-work skills.

 

Marketing/Digital Marketing experience is desirable.
