Description
Role
The Assistant Sports Coach will support lead coaches in delivering fun, safe and engaging sports sessions for children aged 2–11 years.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting lead coaches with the delivery of structured sports sessions and activities
- Supporting children during games and activities to ensure inclusion, safety and enjoyment
- Helping to set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions
- Encouraging positive behaviour, teamwork and confidence in children
- Following safeguarding, health & safety and risk assessment procedures at all times
- Engaging positively with children, parents and school staff where appropriate
Skills and experience
- Enthusiastic, reliable and confident working with children
- Good communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude
- An interest in sport, physical activity or working with children
- Previous experience with children is beneficial but not essential
- Willingness to learn and take direction from lead coaches

Enhanced DBS check is required as the role involves regular, supervised contact with children under the age of 18, supporting and assisting in the delivery of sports activities.
