Description
Role
To assist the Chefs and Kitchen team with the day to day running of the kitchen.
Dress Code
None slip steel toe capped shoe, Uniform on Duty
Duties and responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Loading and emptying dish washing machines and checking items for cleanliness and rectify if necessary to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
- Hand wash and pre-wash larger and greasier items that will not fit in to the washing machine.
- Take rubbish out from kitchens and separate it for recycling and compact the rest.
- Clean according to a rota set out in the standard Operation Procedures (SOP) including ovens, jet blasting to clean walls, ceiling panels, work surfaces (fortnightly or so).
- Service staff canteen. Empty bins, clean tables, sweep and mop flooring, replenish vending machines, re-stock plates and cutlery. In Scarman only replenish tea, coffee and milk provisions.
- Put deliveries away as requested by the Chef’s.
- Clean filters on extractors, empty and clean deep fat fryers on a regular basis.
- Basic maintenance duties as required – replace trolley wheels etc.
Skills and experience
- A basic knowledge of cleaning
- Good knowledge of Health and safety: Ability to understand COSHH regulations & the safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Team player
- Own Initiative
- Reliable,
- Flexible and able to work different shift patterns
- Previous experience in this role
- Able to undertake physical duties
