Description
Role
The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services Group (ISG) are hiring four undergraduate students to work this summer as Resource Lists Interns. The key purpose of this role is to set up and review online reading lists (Resource Lists), in preparation for the next academic year, to ensure that books, e-books, and journal articles are available to students either online or in print.
Within this role, you will gain practical experience in using the Library Management System, Alma, and the Resource List system, Leganto. You will join the Library Learning Services team who are responsible for the Resource Lists service (online reading lists). The team works closely with other Collections Services teams to ensure that students have access to the library materials they require for their courses, and that any related issues are resolved quickly and with minimum impact.
You can expect to start work on the 29th June 2026 and work until the 4th September 2026. You will work between a minimum of 17.5 to a maximum of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) in a hybrid working pattern split between working from home (commutable distance from Edinburgh), and in the Main Library. You will be required to attend the office full-time during the first two weeks of work, followed by a minimum of two days per week for the remainder of the internship. Your preference on working hours within the above range can be discussed during the interview stage. You will be paid £13.55 per hour, plus £2.45 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th August 2026.
