Role
The City Doctoral College is currently looking for aConference Coordinator to provide support for the Inaugural University-level Postdoctoral Conference at City St George.
Duties and responsibilities
To support the conference organiser and the organising Board with the following:
- Meeting organising and support (e.g., scheduling meetings, minute taking);* Scoping of the conference (e.g., hiring a venue and catering);
- Liaising with Schools to recruit PGRs to organise conference panels;
- Conference Advertising internally and externally (e.g., through social media);
- Organising of the conference themes (incl. the workshop, and the elevator pitches);
- Coordinate the call for abstracts.
- Assisting with the recruitment of potential speakers (incl. keynote speaker panel coordination)
- * Coordinating the activities on the day of the conference (e.g., signs, name tags, drinks reception).
Skills and experience
- Experience in conference/events organising (in an academic context, preferably);
- Events/Marketing experience (social media);
- Minute-taking experience;
- Organisational skills;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to liaise with a diverse audience (e.g., professional service colleagues and academics).
