Role

The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services Group (ISG) are hiring an undergraduate student to work this summer as a Marketing and Events Intern (ELM). The key purpose of this role is to drive student engagement with the ELM platform, through the development of marketing materials and strategic planning for the 2026/27 academic year. You will also support the planning and execution of welcome week events and activities.

Within this role, you will gain practical experience in developing strategic marketing plans, generating effective content and promotional material, and event planning. You will join the EDINA Marketing and Communications team, who are responsible for promoting several services EDINA manages, to the higher education sector, public sector, schools and more.

You can expect to start work on the 1st June 2026 and work until the 21st August 2026. You will work between a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) in a hybrid working pattern split between working from home (commutable distance from Edinburgh) and in Forrest Hill. You will be required to attend the office at least one day per week. Your preference on working hours within the above range can be discussed during the interview stage. You will be paid £14.30 per hour, plus £2.59 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th July 2026.
