LFC is working with LJMU and UniTemps to provide an opportunity for Year 2 and 3 LJMU students to take advantage of the Discovery Internships Programme through a short-term placement within the LFC Ticketing Team.

The placement will be working with the Ticketing team who are based in Liverpool.  The team is responsible for the sales and operation of the club’s Ticketing approach. They are responsible for setting up all Ticketing & Hospitality events across men’s and women’s teams as well as across major events such as concerts. They are also responsible for the data and reporting function across the club’s Ticketing and Hospitality functions.

Duties and responsibilities

Support with day-to-day operational data tasks, for example:

o   Excel based reporting for pre and post-match statistics

o   Assisting with Gate statement reporting

o   Assist with extracting, cleaning and validating data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and readiness for analysis

o   Support the wider team by delivering timely, accurate insights in response to ad-hoc data requests

 

Complete project-based work to support improvements to reporting, for example:

o   Creation of dashboards in Power BI (e.g. LFC Women’s ticketing and hospitality sales)

o   Carry out a review of existing reports in the Ticketing system to identify any duplicates or redundant reports

o   Creation of sales tracker to inform financial reporting

Skills and experience

  • Essential
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excels (specifically pivot tables & look ups)
  • Desired:
    • Experience using data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
    • Familiarity with data manipulation tools for large data sets (e.g. SQL / Python)
    • Pursuing a degree in Data or Computer Science, Statistics, Maths or similar

  • Strong communication skills and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of the football industry
