LFC is working with LJMU and UniTemps to provide an opportunity for Year 2 and 3 LJMU students to take advantage of the Discovery Internships Programme through a short-term placement within the LFC Retail Catering Team.
The placement will be working with the Retail catering team who are based in Liverpool. The team is responsible for the concourse catering operation within the stadium. This consists of 42 kiosks, mobile units, hawking, booths and 6 external kiosks.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with receiving stock deliveries and help report or correct any discrepancies.
- Support the merchandising and organisation of kiosks, ensuring good stock rotation.
- Help store products correctly, following temperature and storage guidelines.
- Maintain equipment by keeping it clean, charged, and ready for use, and help with inventory checks.
- Ensure kiosks are prepared for service with all required items such as kegs, gas, stock, and equipment.
- Support the team with stock control processes, including counting, recording, and replenishing stock.
- Contribute to delivering excellent customer service.
- Take part in team briefings and help communicate key information effectively.
- Assist with debriefs and help gather feedback and performance information after events.
- Follow all club policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.

Essential
- Enthusiasm for learning about retail, catering, or event operations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a busy team.
- Good communicator with a positive and professional attitude.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
- Basic IT skills, with confidence using systems such as EPOS, stock control, and revenue management software (training provided).
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and matchdays.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a retail, catering, or customer service environment (paid or voluntary).
- Confident interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships.
- Interest in pursuing a career in hospitality, events, or sports management.
