Description

Role
The University of Edinburgh’s Information Services Group (ISG) are hiring an undergraduate student to work this summer as a Web Registry Development Intern. The key purpose of this role is to explore the use of website auditing tools and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), to extract and present data using Microsoft’s platforms (such as PowerBI, MS Lists, etc.), with the goal of allowing University staff easier and more detailed access to reviewing their website performance.

Within this role, you will gain practical experience in both researching and testing website tools, presenting data-driven information clearly and effectively, and liaising with a range of stakeholders. You will join the Website and Communications team, who are responsible for leading the evolution and maturity of the University’s web governance and oversee the development and execution of the University of Edinburgh’s web strategy.

You can expect to start work on the 1st June 2026 and work until the 21st August 2026. You will work between a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) in a hybrid working pattern split between working from home (commutable distance from Edinburgh) and in Forrest Hill. You will be required to attend the office on a Tuesday and another agreed day. Your preference on working hours within the above range can be discussed during the interview stage. You will be paid £13.55 per hour, plus £2.45 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th July 2026.
