Role
Duties and responsibilities
- Support with the administration of student casework processes and maintain accurate records with high attention to detail.
- Triage inbox queries and respond promptly where appropriate.
- Provide administrative support to faculty Extenuating Circumstances (EC) and Academic Misconduct panels.
- Monitor student attendance and generate reports in accordance with policy to ensure compliance with institutional requirements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records across relevant systems.
- Respond to student queries regarding attendance data, ensuring data integrity and notifying students who are at risk of non-compliance.
- Report changes of circumstances for students to Student Finance England, making sure that the course data held on the Student Finance England portal is accurate so as not to affect payments.
- To maintain accurate records and reporting on student casework pr.ocesses in line with GDPR requirements, liaising with Student Lifecycle colleagues where needed.
- To be aware of the process for identifying a potential Student of Concern and reporting the student to appropriate channels.
General duties
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key staff in central UCL services, to ensure consistency of approach, share best practice, and advocate for the needs of the Faculty.
- Contribute to process improvement projects and identify areas where current processes relating to teaching can be improved in the light of experience, feedback, and changes in external factors.
- Keep informed about programme and committee developments, attending and participating in meetings as required.
Skills and experience
- Given the short term nature of the role, we are specifically looking for candidates that have some experience of UCL systems such as Portico, and are familiar with the student journey.
- Experience in Casework such as Extenuating Circumstances would be preferrable but is not essential.
Location
UCL; hybrid working with 2 days per week from the office
