We are developing a new podcast that stories from our own students. The podcast will focus on authentic and empowering stories from current students and recent graduates, sharing their experiences of university life and reflecting on their journey through higher education at LJMU. It will aim to include the lived experiences of care leavers, estranged students, mature students, international students, students with disabilities or health conditions, students from demographic groups such as GRTSB or from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Interviewees may also have overcome particular barriers to get to university or experienced challenges during their studies that they have overcome.
We are seeking two students who will work closely with academic staff to develop this podcast - you will be leading conversations for the podcast, interview other students and helping us to shape an engaging and authentic series.Duties and responsibilities
Co-host a regular university podcast episode alongside another student host Interview students about their university journeys - with support from academic staff. Prepare interview questions and contribute to episode planning and themes.
Create a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive space for guests to share their stories Collaborate with university staff and production support on scheduling and recording Represent LJMU values regarding equality, inclusion and belonging.Skills and experience
Experience of using the LJMU podcasting systems, ideally gained through modules / study Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence speaking on microphone
Genuine interest in people, storytelling, and diverse student experiences Ability to listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and engage empathetically Reliable, organised, and able to commit time across the academic term Interest in widening participation, inclusion and equality.Location
