Role
The University of Leicester is seeking a Compliance and Contracts Officer to provide essential administrative support to the Head of Maintenance and Engineering and to contract managers within the Estates and Facilities team. This role plays a key part in ensuring that contract and compliance systems and records are accurately maintained. 

 
The post holder will also be responsible for coordinating specified planned maintenance services and associated remedial works, supporting the effective delivery of estates operations across the University.

Duties and responsibilities
The Compliance and Contracts Officer will support the team by covering urgent tasks and assisting with the handover of essential duties following the transfer of a ventilation contract to the mechanical team. 

 
The role involves planning contractor attendance on site, notifying building users of Planned Preventative Maintenance activities, and ensuring systems are kept up to date. This includes updating RESET contractor management software, recording contractor quotes, and creating purchase orders to support maintenance and compliance activities.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five GCSEs including Mathematics and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience. They will hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or an equivalent, and have knowledge of estate-related legislation and regulation. A good working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office, is essential, along with relevant experience of contract service delivery.

Desirable experience includes working with compliance and work management systems such as Zetasafe, TraqIT, PRIME and/or MiCAD, as well as experience of working within a Higher Education environment.
