Description
Role
The unitemps role will provide immediate, delivery-focused marketing and communications support to ensure strong recruitment and attendance for CityVentures’ planned workshops and events whilst we recruit to the permanent Marketing & Events Administrator role. The role is focused on rapid execution, audience reach, and filling workshops to capacity between January and March 2026.
Duties and responsibilities
Key duties include:
Participant recruitment and outreach
Plan and execute targeted outreach to recruit participants for scheduled workshops and events from January to March 2026.
Campaign delivery
Set up and execute marketing campaigns across email, social media, and other relevant channels to recruit participants for the planned events.
Coordinate messaging, timelines, and calls to action to ensure campaigns go live promptly and consistently.
Adapt messaging based on audience response and registration levels.
Content creation
Create and publish marketing content for emails, social media posts and basic promotional materials (digital and physical outreach).
Ensure content is clear, accessible, engaging and aligned with CityVentures’ mission and tone of voice.
The candidate will work with a high level of autonomy, in close coordination with the CityVentures team, and will focus on practical delivery rather than long-term strategy development.
Skills and experience
Essential skills:
Proven experience delivering high-quality marketing and communications for events or programmes, with a clear focus on recruitment and attendance
Strong copywriting skills for email newsletters and social media, including clear calls to action
Strong working knowledge of current digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g. email marketing systems, social media scheduling tools, event registration platforms)
Ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and multiple campaigns independently
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Audience-focused mindset, with the ability to tailor messaging to different participant groups
Desirable
Experience working with universities, entrepreneurship programmes, or innovation ecosystems.
Practical experience using contemporary marketing techniques that resonate with Gen Z audiences (e.g. platform-native content, short-form formats, informal tone where appropriate).
Experience working independently in freelance, consulting, or interim roles, delivering against short-term objectives.
