Description

Role

These roles are only open to current Warwick students (UG, DA or PG) enrolled within the School of Engineering.

Full details are listed here: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/eso/student-community/student-opportunities/internal_short_term_roles/

The School of Engineering is recruiting up to six students on a flexible basis to support student experience projects. These roles will focus on three main areas and bring key ideas to life. Working with the Director of Student Experience and colleagues, you’ll use your lived experiences and those of peers to co-create solutions.

You may indicate a preference for one of the following projects:

Student Project Assistant – Supporting Our Disabled Student Community

Help make our department more inclusive for students with disabilities and mental health conditions. Feedback shows a need for better support in teaching, labs, and personal tutoring. You’ll research existing resources, identify gaps, and create practical guides for inclusive teaching. Activities include running focus groups and gathering feedback to ensure changes reflect student needs. Your work will embed inclusive practices and showcase the university’s Disability Code of Practice.

If you’re passionate about equality and inclusion, this is a great opportunity!

Student Project Assistant – Diversity Champions Project

This project celebrates diversity and representation within the department. Students want more visible role models from varied backgrounds. You’ll design posters and digital content highlighting diverse journeys and achievements, displayed in the department and at Open Days. You’ll also help organise two mentorship events with industry speakers from diverse backgrounds. Your work will foster belonging and inspire future students.

If you care about equality and representation, get involved!

Student Project Assistant – Student Communication Project

Clear communication is vital in a large department. This project aims to improve how we share information—making it easier to find and engage with. You’ll research student preferences for platforms and formats, and collaborate with staff to shape a communication strategy that meets student needs. Better communication means fewer missed messages and stronger engagement.

If you enjoy problem-solving and improving student experience, this is for you!

Student Project Assistant – Feedback & Assessment Project

Join our Assessment and Feedback Project to shape how students experience marking and feedback. You’ll explore best practices in assessment (exams vs coursework, peer marking, reflective feedback), organise focus groups, and contribute to discussions on policy vs best practice using the EEF framework. Your insights will support improvements linked to module surveys and SSLC feedback.

A great chance to influence feedback processes and develop collaboration skills!
