Role
GY2416 Political Geography: Space, Territory and Power Tutorial lead & marking

 

Teaching Fellows (TF’s) lead undergraduate students through class activities by demonstrations of equipment / simulation activities and explanations of the relevant theoretical background, where relevant. These roles are highly interactive and require the knowledge and expertise to assist students to complete each task, taking responsibility for the sessions they are leading. They also need to ensure that students (and staff) work safely.

Duties and responsibilities
Supporting the learning of undergraduate students in seminars in the following module.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and will have practical experience applying appropriate skills and techniques. They will be working towards a PhD or MPhil and will be able to analyse experimental or theoretical work, communicating scientific concepts clearly and effectively. 

 
Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and the capacity to interact effectively with colleagues. The role requires the ability to work independently and on one’s own initiative, as well as proficiency in English sufficient to undertake teaching and administrative activities and to communicate effectively with staff and students. 
 
Candidates should demonstrate behaviours aligned with the University’s values of being inclusive, inspiring and impactful, have an appreciation of safety in laboratory or fieldwork environments where appropriate, and ideally have experience of demonstrating or teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
