Role

The City Doctoral College Provide Support to the Deputy Head of the Doctoral College (Quality)

Duties and responsibilities

Provide support throughout the programme specification process across three Schools, including:

• Liaising with IT to identify PGR course codes in SITS.

• Investigating the number of programmes with pathways, determining their active status, and analysing student enrolment in each pathway.

• Coordinating consultation sessions with various Schools to review and amend existing programme specifications, ensuring alignment with City St George’s policies.

• Collaborating with Web Content to populate PGR programme webpages with information extracted from programme specifications.

• To triage queries received in the Doctoral College mailbox and/or ensure appropriate response.

• Coordinate consultation meetings with stakeholders on the Extension of Candidature policy and the Transfer from MPhil to PhD policy.

• Coordinate meetings and follow-up meetings with Finance to raise the PGR External Examiner fees so they are ready for reporting to the Doctoral College Board of Studies.

• Minute taking of stakeholder group meetings or with other Professional Services.

Skills and experience

Education and experience

• Educated to degree, HND or NVQ level 4.

•Familiarity with or experience of doctoral-level education is desirable

Knowledge, abilities and skills

•Enthusiasm for and experience in working in an administrative role delivering and excellent customer service and experience.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of audiences on complex issues.

•The ability to work flexibly in a collaborative environment.

•The ability to investigate issues, for example, through SITS data.

•Highly developed organisational skills including prioritising work and meeting tight deadlines.

•The ability to produce minutes of meetings and prepare action plans.

• High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.

The ability to use information management systems such as SITS.

 

The post holder will start week commencing the 19th of January.

Location
The candidate is expected to be on site between 2 to 3 days per week in Myddelton St Building
