THE ROLE
Our DMU International Directorate are currently recruiting an International Administrator on a full time basis, working 37 hours per week. The role is to undertake a range of administrative duties in support of the University’s International Strategy and engagement with overseas academic partnerships. Alongside the usual duties as per JD attached, the post holder will be responsible for the logistics and organisation of the Summer School and the TNE Symposium. The post holder will also take on student-facing tasks within the Summer School and Symposium.

This role is a hybrid based role working the following hours:
- Monday: 8.45am to 17.00pm
- Tuesday: 8.45am to 17.15pm
- Wednesday: 8.45am to 17.15pm
- Thursday: 8.45am to 17.15pm
- Friday: 8.45am to 17.00pm
The role is to work 3 days remotely and 2 in the office.
Duties and responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact between International Directorate, other University departments and external stakeholders, channelling enquiries as appropriate.
- The post holder will be responsible for the logistics and organisation of the Summer School and the TNE Symposium.
- The post holder will also take on student-facing tasks within the Summer School and Symposium.
- Be responsible for making complex arrangements for inward and outward visits to/from overseas partners, liaising with DMU travel booking agents as appropriate, producing related itineraries and booking of catering services.
- This will also extend to planning and organising events aimed at supporting the collaborative partnership network.
- To provide central administrative support to collaborative partner service levels working closely with faculty offices and other professional service departments at key stages of the student lifecycle.
- This may include support for and monitoring of admissions, registration, public information checks, access to resources and coordinating graduation activity.
- Support Global Partnership Unit to prepare reports and collect data relating to collaborative partner operations using the university’s SAP system.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the team’s website and intranet presence.
- Provide general administrative support the wider Global Partnerships team, including managing complex diary arrangements, arranging and servicing team meetings and other partnership related meetings as required.
- Act as GPU ‘local buyer’ for the purpose of raising purchase requisitions and processing invoices accordance with the University SAP system and procedures.
- To produce reports to assist in the management of the team’s finances and budget commitments.
- Liaise with GPU Partnerships Officers and Finance Department to prepare partner invoices in accordance with partner contractual financial arrangements, monitoring and reporting outstanding payments as appropriate.
- Support the wider functions of the GPU and contribute to the delivery of key functions in the International Directorate.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.

Skills and experience
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- Undergraduate Degree (or experiential equivalent) - Essential
- Previous work experience - Essential
- Experience or providing high level administrative support.
- Experience of managing complex diary, travel arrangements and schedules and/or organising events
- Experience of administering financial systems and processes.
- Higher Education sector and/or experience of working in an international partnerships environment
- Experience and understanding of key stages of the student lifecycle, in particular student records and admissions procedures.
- Familiarity with the suite of MS Office software
- Effective team working
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of administrative and organisational skills
- Work with high attention to detail whilst adhering to deadlines
- Ability to apply initiative and demonstrate a solutions led/proactive approach to work
- Demonstrate a flexible and responsive approach to changing priorities
- Knowledge of the University’s SAP system.
