Role
We are looking for a new Digital Marketing Assistant student from University of Salford who has some prior workplace experience and is looking to develop hands-on digital marketing skills within a professional environment. You will play a key role in monitoring our online presence, supporting content creation, and helping to communicate our company’s message through email campaigns, website and LinkedIn. Other appropriate socials to be considered.
Duties and responsibilities
Website & Analytics
• Monitor website traffic, visitor behaviour and user engagement.
• Review performance trends and highlight opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with basic website content updates (news items, case studies, product pages etc.).
• A new website is in the development stages, and insights gained can influence the construction of the new platform.
Social Media & LinkedIn Management
• Support the creation and scheduling of LinkedIn posts, ensuring consistent brand messaging.
• Identify relevant industry conversations and engagement opportunities.
• Grow and maintain the company’s LinkedIn presence (followers, engagement, reach, targeting).
• Assist senior staff with polishing and preparing their LinkedIn messages.
Content Creation & Messaging
• Draft short-form marketing content, including social posts, updates, and company announcements.
• Prepare visual assets using simple design tools (e.g., Canva) where required.
• Help maintain the marketing content calendar.
• Ensure all communications reflect the company’s tone of voice and values. General Digital Marketing Support
• Assist with email marketing campaigns (drafting messages, updating mailing lists, scheduling sends, constant contactor)).
• Carry out competitor and industry research to identify trends.
• Support ad-hoc marketing tasks and small projects as needed.
Skills and experience
Required:
• Currently studying a university degree (marketing, business, communications, or similar preferred).
• Some prior workplace experience (placement year, part-time role, internship, or similar).
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Confident using social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple small tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
• Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., HTML).
• Basic understanding of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Experience using simple design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, etc.).
• Interest in digital marketing as a long-term career path.

Bolton UK (Hybrid – mix of home working and weekly office attendance)
