Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Education Administrator – Professional Programmes (Clinical). This role is for an asap start date and has a projected end date of February 28th 2026. This is a part-time role at 25.5 hours per week. Payment is set at £19.14 per hour + £3.58 holiday pay. This role will be UCL hybrid working (part from the office and part from home).

The post holder will be a key member of the Teaching & Learning Team and and will be required to establish good working relationships with School and UCL staff with whom they will work closely. The role involves significant contact and communication with students, staff and external stakeholders and a polite, helpful and responsive approach is essential. The post holder will be proactive, flexible and solutions-driven, being able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and responsibilities

Student recruitment and admissions

  • Deal with prospective student enquiries
  • Monitor and process student applications ensuring that they are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Assist the Faculty Marketing and Communications team in student recruitment initiatives, including supporting Open Days and interviews as required and in ensuring that the materials (prospectus, handbook, webpages etc.) relating to designated programme are accurate and up to date, as required
  • Keep academic staff informed on student recruitment policies

Student induction and support

  • Co-ordinate start of session arrangements; registration of new students, help create welcome packs
  • Working with professional services colleagues to set up induction week(s)
  • Liaise with Student Support and Wellbeing Services in seeking appropriate assistance for students requiring specialist assessments and support
  • Support students who need to submit extenuating circumstances applications and process applications
  • Arrange for students to be allocated a personal tutor if requested.

Skills and experience

Qualifications, experience, and knowledge

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent, or having acquired relevant experience
  • Administrative work in a busy office environment
  • Administration in higher/further education or a teaching and learning environment - desirable 

Skills and abilities

  • Good computer skills, including using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,Teams, and the internet
  • Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation)     
  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of people, including the ability to relate to staff and students in a teaching and learning context
  • Be able to prioritise and organise own workload, meet time-critical schedules
  • Be able to collate and record information accurately using a variety of media
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate commitment to high quality service provision
  • Commitment to and knowledge of advancing equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Be able to use student records systems (e.g. Portico, SITS) and virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodie, Blackboard)     - desirable
