***ADVERT ONLY FOR UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER PGR STUDENTS IN THE COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, ARTS AND HUMANITIES***

 
The School of History, Politics and International Relations are looking for two Research Assistants from within the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
 
The post-holders will support the Project Lead in preparing and delivering the on-campus Schools’ Day element of the Justice Plaques project. This will include searching for, identifying, and then collating primary source materials which are relevant to each participating school’s shortlist of “champions.” 
 
The post-holders will also be required to be present on campus for the research session of the Schools’ Day, and to help guide pupils through the relevant primary materials.

 

Duties and responsibilities
Duties will include working with the Project lead to search for, identify, and collate relevant primary source materials in the University Library, and – if relevant – on-line digital resources. To produce source packs from those documents in advance of the Schools’ Day. To facilitate school groups’ engagement with, and understanding of, those sources, and to work with school pupils to attain the Project’s desired outcomes.

Skills and experience
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated ability in historical research, including the organisation and interpretation of primary sources. Strong communication skills with a clear, accessible delivery style, and proven experience engaging effectively with students.

Location
Various, including David Wilson Library and UoL timetabled teaching rooms.
