Duties and responsibilities
Arrange for PCI Diaphragm Seal, Upper and Lower Housing ( will be provided by PCI ) drawing detail to be imported / scannedinto Solidworks.

 
Generate a CAD model of the PCI Diaphragm Seal, Upper and Lower Housing.
 
Identify / measure the volume normally occupied by transmitter fluid in mm3.
 
Based on the thermodynamic properties of the transmitter fluid estimate the level of thermal expansion for given operating temperature ranges – to be advised by PCI.
 
Identify the forces imparted on the diaphragm seal ( Seal design / material mix to be advised by PCI ) using Finite Element Analysis.
 
Attend meetings, internal meetings and meetings with the clients to communicate the results and feedback.
 
Generate a conceptual diaphragm seal selection model

Skills and experience
Qualifications Level 5 or Level 6 students in the HITS School of Mechanical Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University.

 
Skills: 
 
Proficient in using Solid Works CAD, Computational Fluid Dynmics CFD, Heat Transfer and other relevant software.
 
Experience: 
 
Previous experience in SEM scanning, modelling and design is desirable but not essential
