Internship Work Brief – Working with the Communications and Neurodiversity Training Teams
Overview
Over the course of your 100-hour placement, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the Communications & Marketing Team (50 hours) and the Neurodiversity Training Team (50 hours). Here, we outline your responsibilities while working within each team.
Support and Supervision
You will be directly supported and supervised by:
Ryan Taylor (Communications and Marketing Officer) – for day-to-day communications tasks and project guidance.
Amy Trego (Communications Manager) – for overall oversight and integration across teams.

Duties and responsibilities
Key Tasks:
- Early in the placement, we will ask what areas of communications or marketing you are most interested in exploring.
- Where possible, we will tailor your tasks to help you gain experience in those areas.
2026 Awareness Days Calendar
- Research and populate a comprehensive calendar of relevant awareness days, weeks, and months for 2026.
Develop ideas for:
- Social media posts aligned with awareness days
- Website content (e.g., articles, blogs, features)
- Press and media pitch opportunities that connect our charity’s services, activities, achievements, and client stories to key awareness events.
Social Media Content Creation
- Draft posts for platforms including TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Develop ideas and content for TikTok, including storyboarding or filming short videos that align with our messaging.
- Contribute to ongoing social campaigns and brainstorm new content ideas.
Media and Storytelling
- Assist in identifying potential stories involving staff, clients, or service achievements that could be pitched to media outlets.
Event Preparation
- Support in preparing materials and logistics for any upcoming events the charity is involved in.
CRM and Stakeholder List Management
- Use the organisation’s CRM system to support the ongoing management of our stakeholder list.
- Tasks may include identifying new stakeholders, categorising them into audience segments, and logging or updating contact information in the CRM.
