Role
Unitemps are recruiting for multiple SRI Student Ambassador. This role is for an January 12th start date and has a projected end date of June 12th 2026. This is a part-time role at 2 hours per week for 20 weeks during term time. Payment is set at £16.76 per hour + £3.14 holiday pay. This role will be UCL remote working.
Are you an aspiring content creator? Do you enjoy filming Instagram Reels, crafting LinkedIn posts, and getting creative with Stories? Are you keen to share your student experience at UCL and the Social Research Institute (SRI) with others? Are you passionate about representing your classmates and the SRI at open day events? Then we are looking for you to join the SRI Student Ambassador team!This flexible, hourly-based role is open to all undergraduate and master’s students in the SRI who want to use their creative skills to showcase their journey at the SRI/UCL to prospective students and our wider community.
Interviews will be held between 10am and 2pm (via Team) on Monday December 15, 2025.
More about the role
We are looking for four students – two undergraduate and two master’s – to work as SRI Student Ambassadors and create content for our social media channels and website. Our goal is to showcase student life in the SRI to prospective students and highlight our department activities to our community by sharing content by and for students, highlighting your point of view and experience as a UCL SRI student.As a Student Ambassador, you will be creating authentic and informative content that shows life in the department, and you will also represent your classmates and the SRI at open days, with the potential to reach thousands of students, alumni, and academics across UCL and beyond. This role is a great way for you to use your creativity and people skills to boost your CV while working behind the scenes to shape the department's international presence. You will gain valuable and transferable skills in public speaking, video/media production, teamwork, time management, and more. Whether you are a home or international student, studying for a BSc or MSc/MA – we want to hear from you! The more perspectives, the better.
Duties and responsibilities
Relevant tasks
- Content ideation, research, and planning.
- Short-form content creation for social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and/or YouTube.
- Ensure content created adheres to and follows UCL’s Brand/Style Guidelines as well as SRI’s Social Media Policy.
- Deliver short talks (5–8 minutes) and meet with prospective students at open day events (online and offline).
Skills and experience
- This is a flexible, hourly-based role.
- Each Student Ambassador will work 2 hours per week for 20 weeks during term times (excluding reading weeks) – i.e., 10 weeks in Term 2 and 10 weeks in Term 3.
- Remuneration: Grade 5 point 16
- Successful candidates will get onboarded with training covering content creation tips and tricks.
