Ruby Sparrow is a bohemian fashion and lifestyle brand rooted in creativity, empowerment, and slow, soulful design. We celebrate individuality through vintage-inspired clothing, handmade jewellery, and community-centred events such as fashion shows and workshops. As a small, independent business, we’re now looking to welcome an enthusiastic intern into our creative team. This internship is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in fashion, arts, or ethical retail industries and is passionate about independent brands, sustainability, and storytelling through style. 

The purpose of this role is to get hands on experience with content creation, marketing and social media, as well as assisting on shoots & the creative side of our business. We're a bright, fun & creative brand & hope to provide someone with the experience of working for a small independent team & both grow their own skills & help us grow our brand.

Duties and responsibilities
The intern will support Ruby Sparrow’s day-to-day creative and operational work, offering a unique insight into running a purpose-led fashion and lifestyle brand.

 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the planning, styling, and execution of photoshoots (including prepping garments and liaising with models/photographers)
  • Creating engaging content for social media and newsletters
  • Supporting behind-the-scenes tasks for pop-ups, markets, and events
  • Helping with creative projects such as look books, mood boards, and product designs
  • Contributing ideas and inspiration for new collections or collaborations
  • This is a varied, hands-on role where creativity, initiative, and curiosity are encouraged.

Skills and experience
We’re looking for a motivated, imaginative student who wants to build their experience in creative industries, particularly withinindependent fashion, branding, or community arts.

 
Essential Skills/Qualities:
  • Creativity & Visual Awareness: A strong eye for aesthetics and storytelling through imagery, fashion, or design
  • Organisational Skills: Able to manage time, multitask and take initiative on projects with some independence
  • Communication: Friendly, professional, and confident in communicating both in person and via email/social media

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Basic knowledge of Canva, Instagram, Tiktok & social media or Etsy
  • Interest in photography, styling, or ethical fashion
  • Experience using content creation tools or editing software

This role is suitable for Level 5 or Level 6 undergraduate students studying fashion, marketing, art & design, communications, or related creative disciplines.
