Duties and responsibilities
This role supports the day-to-day running of a small independent silversmithing studio and will be adapted to suit the candidate’s strongest skills. Typical tasks include assisting with silver recycling and preparation for workshops, photographing finished pieces and workshop activities, and helping to plan and post social media content, decorating the studio, and liaising with clients.
Skills and experience
- A practical and careful approach to handling tools and materials
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing neat, thoughtful work
- Confidence (or willingness to learn) with photography, content creation, or social media planning
- Reliable timekeeping and the ability to follow tasks through independently once shown
- Friendly and respectful communication with others in the studio and workshop environment
Relevant degree subjects may include:
- Jewellery and Silversmithing,
- Fine Art, Design,
- Photography,
- Textiles
- Or any creative discipline with an interest in craft and making.
