We are looking for a motivated and organised Event Management Intern to join Generative Minds, a Livepool based AI education and innovation startup on a mission to ensure nobody gets left behind in the age of AI.
The intern will play a key role in helping our founding team to deliver AI education and community programmes across schools, community groups, and local organisations. They will also contribute to the delivery of our flagship Maritime Hackathon 2026,bringing together students, educators, and innovators from across the Liverpool City Region.
Duties and responsibilities
Main Duties:-
- Support the coordination and delivery of AI Literacy workshops in community centres and AI Education sessions in schools.
- Assist with logistics, and partnerships for our Maritime Hackathon 2026.
- Liaise with educators, community partners, and volunteers to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Contribute to event communications and promotion, including social media engagement and participant outreach.
- Capture photos, stories, and feedback to showcase impact.
Team Context:
As part of a small, dynamic start up team, the intern will work directly with the founder and core project leads, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of event coordination, education delivery, and community engagement. This is a collaborative environment where creative ideas are valued, and every team member has the opportunity to shape meaningful projects thatempower people to understand and use AI responsibly.
Skills and experience
We’re looking for a proactive and organised student who is passionate about learning, creativity, and making a positive social impact through technology and education. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced start up environment where teamwork, communication, and adaptability are key.
- Organisation and time management: Able to coordinate multiple tasks and manage event logistics effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Confident engaging with educators, community partners, and event participants.
- Creativity and problem-solving: Comfortable contributing ideas to make workshops and events engaging and inclusive.
- Digital literacy: Competent using tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, and social media platforms.
- Teamwork and initiative: Willing to take ownership of small projects and collaborate with others to achieve shared goals.
Desirable Experience / Interests:
- Experience in event planning, community engagement, or education (through coursework, volunteering, or part-time work).
- An interest in emerging technologies, innovation, and social impact.
- Enthusiasm for learning about AI — no prior technical experience required.
