The Business Operations Officer will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of JGP Consultancy Services’ operations. The role will provide hands-on experience in business administration, project coordination, and client service delivery. Working across different areas of the business—including bid writing, training delivery, social media and consultancy—you will help improve processes, manage information, support marketing efforts, and contribute to the achievement of client and company goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to gain practical experience within a fast-paced consultancy environment, working closely with senior team members and contributing to projects that have a real impact on our clients’ success.

Duties and responsibilities
Business Administration & Operations

  • Assist in managing daily operational tasks to ensure smooth running of the business.
  • Maintain accurate records and update company systems, including CRM databases.
  • Support the creation and management of internal process documents and resources.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and recording actions.

Project & Client Support

  • Provide administrative and research support to bid writing and consultancy projects.
  • Help coordinate training sessions and workshops, including materials preparation.
  • Track project timelines and deliverables, flagging any risks or delays to the team.

Marketing & Business Development Support

  • Support the preparation of marketing content for email campaigns and social media.
  • Assist in identifying potential business opportunities through market research.
  • Help maintain a database of leads, prospects, and clients for follow-up activity.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Collect and organise data for business performance reports.
  • Assist with monitoring KPIs and identifying areas for operational improvement.
  • Support initiatives to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

General

  • Contribute ideas and solutions to enhance business processes.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the management team.

Skills and experience
Qualifications

  • Currently studying at Level 5 or Level 6 of an undergraduate degree, ideally in Business Management, Marketing, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Good general standard of literacy and numeracy.

Skills & Abilities 

  • Organisation & Time Management – Able to prioritise workload, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
  • Attention to Detail – Accurate and thorough in completing tasks, especially when handling data or written materials.
  • IT Skills – Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new systems such as CRMs or project management tools.
  • Problem-Solving – Ability to think logically, suggest solutions, and take initiative where appropriate.

Experience (desirable but not essential)

  • Previous experience in an office, project, or customer service environment.
  • Experience conducting research, analysing information, or preparing reports.
  • Experience using social media or digital tools in a professional or academic context.
