Role
The post holder will be a key member of the Team that provides support and assistance to all areas of City St George's on the application of Data Protection and Information Management Legislation to its activities, reporting to the Team Leader.
Duties and responsibilities
- Handle Information Rights and Third Party Data Requests
- Process Freedom of Information 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 Requests
- Review Data Protection Impact Assessments and Data Protection aspects of contracts
- Get involved with Data Breach management
- Data Protection is about people. With a combined staff and student body of 30,000 people across three campuses, you will play a key part in providing advice on how Data Protection applies in real life to the scope of the University's daily activities.
Skills and experience
- Appropriate professional qualification or relevant vocational experience that demonstrates transferable skills
- Awareness of the legal and regulatory framework governing data protection, freedom of information and records management is required
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Time management skills
- Ability to show patience and objectivity and persuade others
- Experience of working in a team responsible for compliance with Data Protection Legislation is an advantage
- Must have demonstrable experience in applying UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and secure data handling tools.
Location
The role will be Hybrid - 2 days office based
