Description

Role
This position is designed for an existing Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies (CIM), or wider Warwick, PhD student to co-design, coordinate, and manage social media content development and operations at CIM.  This role will be executed in close association and under the supervision of the Communication Director, and the Deputy Director for Research, and the role holder will work closely with CIM’s Research Administrator. They will also work with the Post Graduate Teaching Director for communications related to research-led teaching. The role presents an opportunity for an early-career researcher interested in research communication, particularly in interdisciplinary research, to showcase and develop their skills.  

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create 2 new longer-form social media posts a week, in collaboration with CIM staff, and students which may be related to CIM events, projects, publications, or taught programmes. 
  • Work closely with student ambassadors to coordinate content generated by the students (e.g., a social-media take-over for a week by CIM’s Big Data and Digital Futures masters students).
  • Perform a twice-weekly check of LinkedIn, BlueSky and Instagram to repost and amplify content from staff and students at CIM.
  • Operationalise a monthly social media calendar across CIM’s key social media channels LinkedIn, BlueSky, Mastodon and Instagram drawing upon the CIM research events, news items etc.
  • Prepare a term wise report of social media insights and trends, to be presented in the final CIM staff meeting of the term.
  • Contribute to the development of a social media strategy at CIM with the Communication Director. 

Skills and experience

  • Writing and text editing skills.
  • Interest and / or experience with creating visuals, memes, GIFS or animations.
  • Interest and / or experience in social media content curation.
  • Experience with and / or willingness to develop experience in the use of LinkedIn, BlueSky, Mastodon and Instagram.
  • Experience in public and community engagement
