To support the Assistant Ecologists in the delivery of ongoing and new projects, general office assistance and possible research opportunities. Projects can be steered towards interests of successful candidate.

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate may have opportunities in the following: 

  • Desk-based study
  • Training (e.g. GIS)
  • Communications and outreach
  • Volunteer management
  • Data management
  • Other duties associated with the functions of Merseyside Biobank (www.merseysidebiobank.org.uk) 
  • General office duties 
  • Field surveys (botanical / species / habitats, seasonally dependent)

Skills and experience
We are seeking a nature conservation, zoology, geography, and/or environmental science undergraduate student who has the following skills/interests/experience:

 
Essential: 
  • A keen interest in nature conservation and wildlife recording 
  • Team work, time management and organisation
  • Good communication
  • Data management/handling
  • A level of physical mobility suitable for working in varied terrain.
 
Desirable: 
  • Field work and/or voluntary experience
  • Basic field ID skills (UK species) 
  • A drivers license and access to a vehicle
