Role
The Student Opportunity team alongside the teams in the departments of Chemistry, Politics and International Studies, and English are undertaking a project to develop a teaching resource based on TeamWork organisation projects that will enable departments to embed employer projects into their curriculum.
We will explore Warwick student experiences of TeamWork and of employer-based projects in the curriculum, and will develop a searchable database of previous TeamWork projects that respond to curriculum needs and industry trends.
We are seeking Student Project Officers to conduct student and staff surveys and focus groups, and to develop and create a searchable database of previous TeamWork projects suitable for use in the curriculum.
This project will have both quantitative and qualitative elements. Student Project officers will receive relevant training on conducting desk-based research and focus group and survey research methods where appropriate. Project Officers will be involved in the design and creation of the database, and be involved in the delivery, analysis and outputs of the project
Duties and responsibilities
The Student Project Officers will work with support from Student Opportunity, the departments of Chemistry, Politics and International Studies, and English, and in partnership with students and other university teams, to:
- Design and issue surveys focusing on experiences of TeamWork and/or experiences/opinions of industry related projects in the curriculum;
 - Design and conduct focus groups exploring experiences of TeamWork and/or experiences/opinions of industry related projects in the curriculum;
 - Design and conduct structured reflections focusing on experiences of TeamWork and how projects could be adapted for the curriculum;
 - Design and conduct interviews and surveys with staff members, exploring their needs for a database of industry projects, including exploring search and filter options, and what project information would be required;
 - Collect and analyse findings to identify trends and patterns;
 - Â Contribute to research outputs including:
 
-Support the creation of a database of projects suitable for use in the curriculum;
-Support the development of supporting resources, including materials that support authentic assessment;
-Review and feedback on materials to ensure they are impactful/fit for purpose;
- Present the findings in relevant meetings and events within the institution and across the sector, such as relevant conferences;
 - Carry out other tasks as directed by the project lead.
 
Skills and experience
Essential
- A current Warwick student.
 - An interest in embedding employability into the curriculum.
 - Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from information available.
 - Strong understanding of the importance of impartiality in research methodologies.
 - Excellent written and oral communication skills, adaptable for different audiences.
 - Personable, approachable and flexible.
 - An organised approach and ability to prioritise and adhere to deadlines.
 - Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 - Strong problem-solving skills.
 - Experience of using database software, or ability to learn new software quickly.
 - Excellent IT skills, including a high degree of proficiency with MS suite including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
 
Desirable
- Demonstrable project planning skills, of any type of project.
 - Experience of designing and running focus groups.
 - Experience of designing and issuing surveys.
 - Previous TeamWork participant.
