Role
The Student Experience Division is seeking international students for flexible, casual roles alongside their studies.
Open to all current University of Warwick international students, we welcome applicants from all departments, backgrounds, and underrepresented communities (e.g. LGBTQ+, students with disabilities).
As an International Student Ambassador (ISA), you’ll represent Warwick’s global community and help enhance the international student experience through events, research, and digital projects.
When applying, select one or two specialist streams that match your skills and interests, and explain your choices in your cover letter. All ambassadors collaborate across projects throughout the year.
1. Events & Community Engagement Stream
If you love connecting with people and energising campus life, this stream is for you.You’ll help deliver events and activities that welcome, celebrate, and support international students—from the International Student Hub and Welcome Week to Global Lounge events and the January Welcome Reception—ensuring every student feels part of Warwick from day one.
2. Research, Benchmarking & Co-Creation Stream
If you enjoy analysing, improving, and designing impactful initiatives, this stream is for you.You’ll work on projects that enhance the international student journey, such as developing the new International Student Success course, evaluating resources and policies, and contributing to the International Student Experience Advisory Board (ISEAB) by offering insights and feedback on key initiatives.
3. Digital Media & Creative Projects Stream
If you’re creative, confident on camera, or enjoy producing digital content, this stream is for you.You’ll create engaging content that showcases Warwick’s international community and supports key projects throughout the year—filming videos, developing materials for the International Student Success course, and sharing authentic student stories.Ideal for students with skills in planning, filming, editing, presenting, or creative collaboration. (Please include links to your work in your cover letter.)
Additional Details
•This is a casual role with no guaranteed minimum hours (typically up to 5 hours per week).
•During 21 September – 2 October 2026, you may opt to work additional hours (subject to visa conditions).
•Shortlisted candidates will attend an informal interview, including a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation and short Q&A.

Duties and responsibilities
As an International Student Ambassador, you will contribute to a range of activities across three specialist streams. You’ll also collaborate with other ambassadors on cross-stream projects throughout the year.
Events & Community Engagement
• Support the delivery of cultural and community events such as Lunar New Year celebrations, Welcome Week, and Global Lounge activities.
• Act as a mentor to new international students during arrival and transition events, sharing peer-based insights and signposting support services.
• Assist with roundtable conferences and student panels, helping to create welcoming and inclusive spaces.
Research, Benchmarking & Co-Creation
• Act as a sounding board for international student needs, providing feedback on events, webpages, and support materials.
• Contribute to the transformation of student-facing guidance and digital resources, including translation tasks where relevant.
• Facilitate and host International Student Roundtable events, gathering student insights and producing summary reports with recommendations.
Digital Media & Creative Projects
• Create blogs, vlogs, video guides, and top tips to support incoming international students.
• Contribute to digital storytelling and communications projects, including filming, editing, and scripting content.
• Moderate online communities or group chats to support peer engagement and share lived experiences.
Skills and experience
We’re looking for students who bring a mix of passion, creativity, and collaboration to the team. You don’t need to have formal experience—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Essential:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and simply.

Desirable:
• Experience supporting events, helping other students, or contributing to student-led initiatives.
• Confidence or interest in digital content creation (e.g. Canva, video editing, Microsoft Forms).
• Familiarity with tools like web editors or analytics platforms (helpful for research and digital streams).
Location
primarily in-person, with most activities taking place on campus - some tasks may be completed online
